Distance education is not a recent phenomenon. Its evolution spans from the correspondence courses of the 20th century to today's virtual learning environments (Garrison, 2009). With the development of the internet and educational platforms, universities have increasingly incorporated Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) into teaching and learning processes.
