Focus and scope:
Diá-logos, the Education Journal of the Universidad Don Bosco of El Salvador, aims to contribute and share with the national and international educational community its reflections, experiences and research results in the educational field. Diá-logos addresses different educational topics, including pedagogy, curriculum, evaluation, technology, policies and educational management. Diá-logos is addressed to educators at all levels, public officials in the area of education, researchers in the area of education, teacher trainers and students in teacher training.
Diá-logos publishes original, unpublished and current research works in Spanish, English and Portuguese, double-blind peer reviewed.
Diá-logos is published by the Editorial of the Don Bosco University, through the Directorate of Distance Education and the Institute of Pedagogical Research and Training.
Application or processing fees
Diá-logos Journal does not charge authors fees for submitting their articles, review process, editorial, article design, publishing or reading articles.
Frequency of Publication
Diá-logos Journal is published biannually. Issues are published at the end of June and December.
Ethical Statement on Publication and Bad Practices
The publication of articles in the Diá-logos Journal constitutes a permanent process of knowledge production. The Journal promotes the publication of open access digital articles. In addition, it considers it its duty to ensure the transmission of scientific knowledge, guaranteeing its rigor and quality, under an ethical commitment to the scientific and academic community. The protocols and guidelines described here are good practices commonly exercised by publishers of international prestige. In this regard, the Code of Conduct established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) for editors of scientific journals is taken as a reference.
Once the articles are published in the Diá-logos journal, they are published in the institutional repository and on the Publisher's website. The journal's articles are shared in different spaces within the Don Bosco University and outside of it, in accordance with the copyright and licensing established in the Journal.
Obligations of the authors
The authors must guarantee the authorship of the articles they present. Authorship corresponds to those who have made a significant contribution to the article. If the article has significant contributions from more than one author, they must appear as co-authors.
The authors must provide contact information to facilitate communication with other researchers in relation to the published work. These data will be disseminated along with it.
Peer review process
The decisions of the members of the editorial committee, composed of national and international evaluators, to accept or reject an article for publication are based solely on the relevance of the work, its originality and clarity in writing, as well as on the relevance of the study in relation to the editorial line.
It is guaranteed that the material submitted for publication will be considered as reserved and confidential material while it is being evaluated and, in the case of rejection, no national or international evaluator member will be able to make the original public.
The identity of the evaluators is protected at all times, guaranteeing their anonymity.
Each article will be subject to external double-blind peer review, external to the publishing institution,where the identity of both the authors and the evaluators will remain anonymous. If discrepancies are found in the assessment issued by each evaluator, the article will be submitted to the evaluation of a third reviewer. The evaluation will be carried out through the evaluation rubric provided by the journal (you can access the rubric by clicking here).
Protection of individual data
The journal diá-logos guarantees the confidentiality of individual information. It is the ultimate responsibility of the authors to have the relevant authorizations for the use of images, figures and trademarks that appear in their works, as well as other personal data (age, sex, social level, etc.).
