The book revolves around the ubiquitous character that photography has achieved
in recent years thanks to the boost obtained by the technologies of the information. Here, Martin Hand places the reader in the particular perspective of contemporary visual culture. And so, it allows to understand in a way general, how photography relates to everyday life in the global context of advanced capitalism. The novelty of the book lies in his simple explanation of how personal photography has gone from being a useful act for memory, and has become a manageable way of representation in a highly digital culture. The author addresses this transformation from multiple perspectives. All with support systematic analysis of various sources of academic information, generating which also generates new empirical evidence related to photography staff.
