The application of scientific journalism in digital newspaper in El Salvador

Scientific journalism is a space to promote science in the media, especially in the written media and today in digital newspapers. Therefore, this study aimed to describe the application of this in the
digital news media of El Salvador with national coverage and to do so, the content of the articles on science and technology was analyzed. Also, journalism professionals from different media outlets in the
country were interviewed to delve deeper into the topic. Among the results presented in this research article, it was obtained that the scientific journalism that is applied in El Salvador is reactive, since for the production of news about science there must be a current issue. Regarding the genres used for the dissemination of science, it was found that this type of information is shared in the format of short notes. On the other hand, the writing style used is simple and easy to understand. It was possible to verify that scientific journalism in Salvadoran digital newspapers is little applied and the production of their own articles is minimal, since the vast majority of news is taken from international media. Science news produced in newsrooms, although simple in style
and easy to understand, requires greater consultation with specialist sources (scientific researchers), contextualization of information, flexibility of language and the use of different resources that attract the
reader's attention.
